This Week's Topic: Live To Be 100

I typically tell my clients that we plan to live to 100 based upon the likelihood that medical science will discover ways to keep us healthy as we age. The October issue of Bottom Line Tomorrow quotes from a book by Thomas T. Perls, MD and Margery Silver, Living to 100: Lessons in Living to Your Maximum Potential at Any Age (Basic Books), that there are now over 60,000 Americans age 100 or older and that the number should increase to between 800,000 and four million by 2050.
The authors cited a number of factors contributing to longevity: Heredity, Being Female, Active Life Style, Healthful lifestyle, Human contact and adaptability. We can
