Very rarely should married spouses in a community property state hold title to realty and stocks and bonds as Joint Tenants. Additionally, gifting assets to yourself and a child in Joint Tenancy should only be done after a thorough discussion with your attorney. Why?

First of all, Joint Tenancy takes precedence over your Will or Trust. Only the surviving Joint Tenant(s) will take the deceased owner
